There is not much to say about the Met career of Sandy Alomar Jr, the brother of Roberto Alomar and son of Sandy Sr. The former All-Star catcher and American League Rookie of the Year ended his 20 year playing career with the Mets in 2007. He made his Mets debut on July 8th and would play in just 8 games the rest of the season. Like his father he batted 22 times while with the Mets but unlike his father he managed to get a hit in a Met uniform, in fact he got three in total for .136 average.
Sandy Jr stayed in the Met organization serving a the organization’s catching instructor in 2008 and 2009.
While with the Mets he wore both number 19 and 28.
